PT8 crashing after save...
I have been using PT8 recently with absolutely no errors or problems. My sessions have 48 tracks, video and plenty of plugins. Everything runs perfect in the sessions, but after saving, closing that session and then seeing the grey PT background....It freezes....eventually giving the WinXP "not responding" error. Then I have to go into taskmanager and end task. very annoying. Oh, and the session actually saves fine. Any ideas? I have done every PT tweak here as well as every other WinXP tweak in existence (really). I've been neck deep in Windows since 3.1 (sadly)

Re: PT8 crashing after save...
Try removing your plugins from the DAE folder
to Plugins (unused) folder and then try to re-open the session. If the session opens, you may have an outdated or dare I say "Not properly authorized" plugin. If so, Quit PT and drag back your digi plugins back into your DAE folder and leave 3rd party out for now. Lauch PT and the session again. just repeat the steps until the session won't open again and you may find your culprit. Just An Idea. Also try trashing DAE Pref. Folder and Your Digidesign databases. I'm sure more info that you give would help get you a solution. |
