I've been trying to sell an Mbox 2 Pro with an extra PT8 license I got from Digi/Avid some time ago. Which I never used and just check with them to make sure it was still a usable valid key. Let me know what you were thinking as far as price goes for the PTLE 8. Then I can decide if I want to split it off from the hardware I'm trying to sell.

Hey sopdx. As you know some of the installation disk were bad. Would you supply the new installer,upgrades to 805( I think) and authorization codes with it. In other words I'm looking for a hassle free instal. Could it be registered? sopdx they go on ebay from 60.00 up but I'd rather buy from here If you know what I mean. I'm willing to pay a fair price for it. Throw me a number. Hope we can work it out.

Unless you're buying a copy that has never been registered, I'm pretty sure PT8 cannot be sold on it's own. There's no way to transfer the ownership of just the software, it needs to be transferred with the hardware it originally came with.

This is different than PT9 or 10, in which the Ilok license can be transferred.

nst7...thanks for sharing that info. As I've emailed Roy, I'm not certain how all the transfer stuff works, yet, so this is good to know. Don't want any hassles with this.

Allow me to throw a question at'cha or anyone else who may care to chime in: I purchased an Mbox original with v6, upgraded through v6.9 with that unit, then purchased an 002R which included v7, have upgraded through v8 with that unit, purchased an Eleven Rack, crossgraded to v9, then upgraded to v10. Last week I bought another Eleven Rack which includes v10. I only have use for the v10 from the most recent Eleven Rack purchase, so what can be moved?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'll dig into this fully later today, but thought I'd ask the DUC.

As long as you don't register the v.10, you can just sell the activation code to someone, and they can register it in their name just as if they bought PT10 new from the store.

However, there is a special right now where whoever registers PT10 gets 2 free plugins, Reverb One and Tel-Ray delay. If the new buyer registers that activation code, they will get those plugins, not you.

If you want those free plugins, you could register the activation code, get everything, put it on your Ilok, and then sell the Ilok license.

Also, because of the current special, you register the 11R hardware, you will get the Eleven plugin and Moogerfooger bundle.


One other thing to consider, you could hold off on registering, or selling the activation code, and wait until PT11 comes out. Then you register it at that time and get PT11 basically for free (instead of paying for an upgrade from your existing PT10 license).
