Default RME and Pro Tools 9

Hi.
I have read about Pro Tools 9 and it looks great!
But wouldn't it be fantastic if I could use my Fireface RME 800 along with it?
I have tried to find out if it's possible, but maybe it's only AVID and M-Audio hardware that works with it?
Does anyone know?

Thanks
Simon

Pro Tools 9 should work with any ASIO or CoreAudio compatible interface. Basically... if it works with other audio software... it should work with PT9.

It works very good here with my Fireface 400 . - it is the same drive for FF800 for OS X.
Sometimes it is a bit tricky to get it running if you change the samplerate, clock or something like that.
But after that you have a very good interface for PT.

And take care! On OS X use the full installer of PT 9 - for me the try to use the small updater it crashes my plug in folder - I had to have a reinstall !

Just a quick note, some people are finding that certain 3rd party interfaces are not working with their system. Most likely it's that something is set up wrong. In almost every case I've heard this, someone else replies that it is working for them.

Pretty much every interface on the market should work with PT9, other than specialized ones like the Avid HD interfaces.

I bump this thread since I´m thinking of getting a Fireface 800.

Anyone else who is using RME Fireface 800 or Fireface UFX in OS X with PT9?

Anyone who has made the jump from a 002, how much better A/D and D/A conversion can I expect?

I looking at the same possible upgrade so keen to hear responses on the mentioned RME interfaces or others in similar price range. (I guess it's early days yet). Any suggestions on PCIe based system again in the same price bracket would be of interest too.

I'm considering getting one of these
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FirefaceUFX/

after looking into the fireface 800, it does not have monitor control or any kind of volume control....it looks like the UFX version rocks.

anyone have one yet???????????

avid had better give us an option soon or I think lots of folks like me are considering other hardware.
