M1 Max MacBook Pro Monterey, Kontakt Crashing Pro Tools

Not in the studio at the moment so can’t check but does Kontakt 6 still have the Kontakt Memory Server function (KMS)?

Just wondering if this is a temporary workaround. It’s Mac only BTW.

same here, i clean installed monterey on my m1 macbook air, and pro tools still crashes with kontakt, & is generally unstable.

Ive turned on KMS inside of the standalone Kontakt 6 latest version. Is this function meant to save the library so that when I open the Konakt plugin inside of Pro Tools it then shows the saved library? Because I just get a blank Kontakt setup and then choose the library and Pro Tools crashes.

Ive had the new 14 inch MacBook Pro with 64gb ram the specced out version for 2 weeks and haven't had any luck with Kontakt and Pro Tools. If anyone has any updates or suggestions that would be very much appreciated.

KMS loads samples into a separate memory space rather than using RAM allocated to the DAW. It’s a throwback to the 32 bit days when apps were limited to 4GB of RAM.

NI is still writing code in x86 and hasn’t ported to Apple Silicon yet. Who knows when this will be complete, until then it will not be stable.

Having this issue too... New MacBook Pro 16", Kontakt freezes everything up.

Works fine in Ableton and other daws...

I have almost identical Macbook pro setup but the crashing seems to occur on any virtual instrument where my library is kept on an external drive (i.e. Kontakt, Spitfire-BBCSO). Instruments where the library is on the MBP HD see to work.

Anyone else seeing the same trend?
