Digi 003, PT 10.3.9, OSX 10.8.5: 003 not showing up in playback engine

Hi folks,

as the title suggests, I am running (attempting anyway!) PT 10.3.9 (new install) on OSX 10.8.5 (new install) along with my old Digi 003.

I have installed these drivers: http://akmedia.digidesign.com/netsto...ller_78629.dmg
and then this "fix" http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor..._Fix_70303.dmg

I can not get PT to recognise the 003, therefore no monitor output, therefore no music making for me!

I have searched all of the relevant forums (003 and PT 10 discussions), as well as the Avid site, and I couldn't find any clear fix.

I have reinstalled PT, drivers and fix, trashed prefs... nothing seems to work.

If anyone can shed light on this, I would very much appreciate it.

I hope this is enough information re system specs, searches (via avid DUC and Avid itself) and steps already undertaken to try to rectify the (bad) situation.

I have the same problem with a HD native system, so far no luck solving it.
Any light on the matter?

I think I bypassed the fix last time I upgraded. Is 10.8.5 Mavericks or Mountain Lion? Need more information like computer make and model, ram, CPU etc..
