Default DSP of Metric Halo ULN-2

Hi,

first post. Learned a lot out of the forum here.
I have hooked up my MH ULN-2 to my 002 rack. Now i have been looking how i can use the DSP of it in protools. I have to make a connection but i cant figure out how i have to do this.
Some advice would be great.

thx in advance

You want to digitally send signal from the 002 to the ULN, process the signal in the ULN and digitally return the signal to the 002, right?

With the 002 and ULN, you have to use SPDIF coax. I wondering about the clocking, though: 002 should be on "internal", ULN on "DigIn". Will the returning signal from the ULN be clock adequately?

Maybe use an external reference: get the clock on the 002 with the optical input and on the ULN with the AES/EBU or wordclock input.

i think i found it out. I am only not so sure this will be the best way ...

002 and ULN connected with S/PDIF

internal clock on ULN and SPDIF clock on 002

i made a new track with input on SPDIF and that seems to work.

i am only not so sure this is the good way ...

One way or the other, it's a "clock loop". This is why I'm wondering about it. You should ask your question on Metric Halo mail list: http://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/mobileio
