Not to mention having to upgrade your plug-ins

But getting the Time Trimmer tool, inactive tracks and command focus keystrokes.. it's well worth the money IMO.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">hey rail -- for those of us who've never used TDM systems, could you break down: what are all those things you just mentioned? why do they add up to $75 of extra value?

Disable Tracks - select a bunch of tracks, and in the File menu select Disable Tracks.. and those tracks are greyed out and don't use any DSP/CPU.. so they're no longer counted as part of your 32 tracks (in LE).. and if you're sharing sessions between TDM and LE.. it'll make life much easier. Disabled tracks' names are italicised in the Show/Hide window.

Command Focus - between the Tab To Transient and Tie Timeline and Edit buttons you'll get a little a..z button. When that is highlighted, you get single key stroke commands like in TDM for zooming in and out, moving selections up and down tracks, creating fades,.. and a whole lot more.

These are just some of the enhancements that LE will get in 6.0

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Do you beleive this because you have been told by someone from Digi, or are you guessing?

I'd be surprised if it was that inexpensive. Just MHO.

The party line at AES was that the upgrade will be $75 for LE and $200 TDM. They all said however that 'at this time we believe that the upgrade path will be'...so take that for what it's worth.

Froyo is correct. This is still the estimated pricing for the PT 6 upgrade. Final pricing details are still being worked on and will be published when finished.

Thanks for your interest.

I would never post a guess on a public forum.
