UAD card Plug-Ins to Spark
Any one do any experimenting with the new M2’s with and without the cards? Delay times, load times, audio quality? Thinking during the Holidays to break things down and get the new Mac Pro and get rid of the old cards, now that everything is getting so fast. Using for mixing only , not on any UA converters or input devises here, Burl Motherships for AD/DA and outboard for tracking. Any discrepancy ‘s, pros and cons that you have found? Thank you.

Re: UAD card Plug-Ins to Spark
I am not on Apple Silicon but am using UADX native versions of my UAD plug ins and I will say you can get MORE of the native plug ins than the UAD versions. Latency is negligible for mixing. Not all UAD plug ins are available for UADX, yet. I am enjoying the Massive Passive as UADX as with the UAD that plug in uses 75% of one UAD2 dip chip
IF you already have UAD plug ins you have the same ones in UADX for FREE |

Re: UAD card Plug-Ins to Spark
^^^ exactly, most people will be way better off losing the old UAD license dongles aka DSP cards and just running the plugins native.

Re: UAD card Plug-Ins to Spark
I have a Mac Studio (M1) and use the UAD hardware and Spark. There's no difference, but a few of my favorite plugins (Ampex) are only on UAD (for now).

Re: UAD card Plug-Ins to Spark
bit of a shame there is no switching between DSP and native within the plugin. I do find my octo card takes down overall CPU about 20% when maxed out as compared to having everything run native. On the other hand, offline bounce is much faster with no UAD DSP present in the session. There are still a good number of UAD DSP plugins (Ocean Way, SSL, 480L, etc) that I frequently use so at this point it's a mixture...

Re: UAD card Plug-Ins to Spark
Yes it is. I'm currently using an Octo card and started using Spark recently and the combination is working well. I mainly use native plugins that I don't have individual licenses for and use as much DSP as it can handle. Wish I could easily switch between the 2 without having to replace the original plugin with a new instance. Another thing that would also be nice is if the presets were interchangeable!
