M-Powered with FW Interfaces
I just switched from an M-Powered Delta 1010 (PCI) set up to a Digi 002 with LE 7.3. After making the switch I have been getting "Operating System Held Off Interrupts Too Long" errors every time I work with a 128 buffer setting. I never had this issue with M-Powered, so now I am trying to figure out if it is an LE problem, or a Firewire Interface problem. So my question is, has anyone had these errors with M-Powered, and what type of interface are/were you using (PCI or FW)?

Re: M-Powered with FW Interfaces
You'll probably get more views if you post this over in the LE section, since your issue is with LE.
I don't think I've seen this before. Yes, this sounds like it could be a FW issue. What kind of FW card are you using? I use a SIIG card, which just has the TI chipset on it. It's one of the recommended models. It could also be just a general horsepower issue. What are your system specs? |

I have plenty of horsepower (quad system) and also have the SIIG card. I have absolutely exhausted all possible fixes for it, that is why I am thinking of switching back to M-Powered and selling the 002. Thinking of going with a Profire 2626. Has anyone had 6088 errors (operating system held off interrupts...) with that interface, or any other FW M-Audio interface? My thought is that M-Audio's drivers are more stable than Digi's.

Yes, I have, but only when I was using an 1814 on a Pentium 4 box at a 128 sample buffer. It doesn't sound exactly like a driver stability issue, to me. It sounds more like horsepower (i.e. the CPU just can't service some IO interrupt in time), although you said you ruled that out.
What kind of hard drives do you have? Which CPU are you using? What's your OS? |

2 AMD Opteron 2212, XP Pro SP3, 3 SATA WD internal drives (160 system drive and 2 250G "audio" drives) I bought a Profire 2626 tonight to see if I get the errors with MP. I will report back.

Installed the 2626 along with MP 7.4, and all errors went away. The problem is either with LE, or the 002 itself.
