Is there no tempo detection tool...what about tap tempo?
I cant seem to find anything that will help me determine the tempo of an audio file I've imported into PT1. It's got drums in it, so the entire project's tempo will be based on it.
I also dont see where "tap tempo" is, not that it's the most accurate way to READ the tempo of a file anyways. And I also even went to the master Pro Tools First Online HELP interactive document within PT1 and typed in TEMPO under Search. The results were "404 File or Directory not found". UNBELIEVABLE |

Identify beat is one method. Beat detective is another method.
If the drums were tracked to a click, setting the tempo will be rather simple. If not, you'll need to build a tempo map.

Beat detective may not be but identify beat is. I found it in the manual before I posted.

Definitely prefer Beat Detective though, rather than slicing out loops and setting start/finish bar markers. Are you able to answer my other question about Playlists in PT First? Can't seem to figure that out either, and am wondering if they've left it out of PT1st. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=371297 I may have to just fork out the dough and buy the full version, just trying to relearn PT so I can help out at a couple of studios I know :P Thanks! |

Re: Is there no tempo detection tool...what about tap tempo?
Searching the online guide reveals very little having to do with playlists. My assumption then is that First does not support multiple playlists per track.
