S/PDIF, ADAT, Word Clock - Recording At Optical IN (003R).

I've asked this before and can't make heads or tails of WHY I cannot get a signal from the DIGITAL OUT (Optical) of my SYNTH to the DIGITAL IN (Optical) of my DIGI 003R. This worked FINE with my 002R, 002 and 001.

I would just connect the cable, select S/PDIF IN L/R, RECORD and VOILA, it would work without issue. Yes, I would make sure that the HARDWARE SETUP has S/PDIF selected and OPTICAL as the clock source. This worked on every other DIGI unit. Why is this not working on my 003R? Why would anything have to be different.

No I haven't utilized WORD CLOCK, but I shouldn't have to if this worked on every other Digi unit.

Any suggestions?

Go into Hardware setup(in Pro Tools) and make sure that Optical =SPDIF. It likely defaults to ADAT(8 channel) and you probably need optical SPDIF(2 channel).
