Default Surrendered PT10/11 to upgrade

Hi all,

I upgraded from PT10/11 with the Perpetual Annual Upgrade plan thinking I would still get a license to use PT10.

This is not the case.....I apparently should have bought the Annual Upgrade and Support Plan.....

How can I now get just the PT10 license to use alongside PT12? Any clues.

Thanks

Yep, that's the deal. If you want to keep the earlier versions (that you already paid for) you have to give $199 to get 12, and take the support option and access to plugins.
After that, I believe, you can either keep up with the $99/year for upgrades or stop where you are, keep the software but lose the plugins. Be careful about that. I can see some very unhappy folks in that scenario.

That needs to be clear in their advertising. So many are complaining of confusing options. They are moving to a subscription based environment, that much is obvious. Hopefully, they will work something out with you.

Here is a copy and paste of a email I received from Avid Web Store Support. October 10, 2015
I Don't know if this will help but it is a direct response from Avid about upgrading.
I did check the Avid Store this morning and they never changed the description. I never made the upgrade to 12.
So here it is for what it is worth.

Hello Lou, Thank you for contacting AVID Web Store Support! As per checking, the $99 PT Upgrade
with support plan will need you to surrender your license, but you will have it bundled
you'll have PT 10, 11, and 12 in just 1 license so you
won't lose what you currently have. Best Regards, Yvon Avid Web Store Support Previous Responses:
Case Description:

Hello, I have Pro Tools 10 and 11 not HD version. I had heard the policy has changed with the $99.00 upgrade to
Pro Tools 12 recently and that I would not surrender my PT10
or PT 11 license's is that correct?
Below in quotes is what I cut and pasted from your Avid
Web Store. Is that info now incorrect?
I do not want to surrender my PT10 or PT11 License's.
"Pro Tools 12 upgrade with Annual Upgrade Plan Includes Pro Tools 12 license and activation
(must surrender your current Pro Tools 10/11 licenses)—download required
(includes software/plug-in installers and user guides) 1-year Annual Upgrade Plan (includes access to all New
Pro Tools releases for one year), renewable annually)"

I just did the annual upgrade, the $99 option with no support package, and the installers for 10, 11 and 12 are all in my account.

Happy for you… not so happy for myself!

I purchased the $99 option when PT12 first came out, only to discover 11 & 12 weren't included. To their credit Avid refunded me...

However, having just gone for the $199 option in order to ensure PT10 compatibility, I now learn this was unnecessary & the $99 option would have sufficed.

Avid… you really need to get your Store in order. Fair enough doing U-turns (or should that be handbrake turns), but update the store info to reflect these changes.

Care to post a screenshot of your iLok account showing the 10/11/12 combo license?

There's SOOOOO much mixed information on this $99 upgrade and they STILL haven't updated the website to reflect this change, if it is indeed changing.

The more proof there is, the better.

Yes, the downloads for 10/11/12 will be in your Avid account because they are perpetual licences that you bought. However, it states in the Avid upgrade information that if you upgrade to 12 and do nottake the support plan, you surrender your licences from your Ilok and just get the PT12 one. If you wanted to keep all your Ilok licences, you should have selected the $199 upgrade.
