Default Apollo i/o issues with both 10.3.8 and Protools 11

Hi guys

I'm running a UA Apollo with Protools 10.3.8 (and though 11 is installed, I'm not currently running it) and when I have something plugged into 1+2 (and is obviously going through 1+2 on the Apollo) it won't show up as anything but inputs 3+4 ion Protools (either version) 3+4 shows up as 5+6 etc.
I've tried Reaper (to check if its just something in Protools, or something I've
done incorrectly,) but 1+2 shows in Reaper as 1+2, and so forth.
I've tried resetting the I/O settings in Protools to its defaults, and nothing.
Any ideas?

P.S Windows 7 64 bit with most recent service pack

thanks

Stephen

So go to your io and rename them - 1/2 rename them to 1/2 instead of 3/4 ectra

My problem is, in the Setup in I/O its still only reads as the built in microphone 1-2. Everything has been set to the Universal Audio Apollo, in the Playback Engine, Hardware, System Preferences, etc. What am I missing here?

Open Console settings and check Pro Tools mode.
This offsets the the Apollo I/O to match Pro Tools.
There is a video on the Apollo Support page that should also help.

Thanks for the reply. I did as you recommended and watched the video but it seemed to stay the same. The only change I saw was in opening a new session in the I/O setting I clicked the Eleven Rack. Should I be able to see the Apollo in the dropdown box for the I/O settings at the beginning of a new session? If so then why isn't it coming up? Sorry for such newbie questions, but its seems I keep running into problems. I've recently spent my entire savings on a new iMac, PT11, Røde K2 and the Apollo Quad. Just want to have everything working properly. Cheers.

Ya might want to wait on this...

Check the UA website as their is some type of special "Pro Tools mode" for the Apollo that deals with this issue...

It has to do with the numbering of the output jacks and the two separate monitor out jacks...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

I don't know anything about connecting up an Eleven Rack as I'm a horn player.
I'm also new to Apollo, got mine last month.
I don't want to give you any bad information, but I would start by making sure the Apollo is selected as your playback engine, then maybe the outs from the Rack into inputs 4-8 on the Apollo. Hopefully someone with more experience/knowledge of the Eleven Rack will chime in.
If you continue to have issues, UA support is very helpful.

ok, i've been dealing with this channel offset issue for months. i'll think i have it solved, and it will come back. someone suggested re-naming the inputs in the pro tools i/o.. problem with that, is i couldn't use channels 1 and 2.

once, i simply switched the firewire cable from output 1 to output 2 on the apollo. that worked for a while, then the problem came back.

today, in console settings, i switched PT mode off (unchecked the box) and it's worked perfectly all day. we'll see if it works tomorrow.
