Default Re: IK Multimedia?

Interesting....I thought I would try again with IK - nearly a year after asking the first question... I fed back the mood generated recently here and the supposition that perhaps IK were being left behind (by NI and others) - and maybe they would like to know. Business critical to them you would think?! It was a perfectly logical, courteous and sane post on their forum. The question for me was - before I switched wholesale - how does Guitar Rig 5 compare to Amplitube 3 (because this is the most important tool for me...)

Well.......they deleted my post.

So I re-posted and asked them why they deleted the post....

They deleted that one too!!

I did get a private message from IK - no, not giving me an update on when or if they are planning to invest in the AAX format - but a wrist slap for talking up about other competitive products.

So there. That is how they treat a simple query from a bloke who has spent a lot of money with them...after a year of hearing nothing.

GR5 vs Amp 3 anyone?? OK to jump?

Thx

Tony

Further update. Just had another PM from IK... And I hope they don't mind me quoting them...

We don't intend for people to be left without the ability to use IK plugins in Pro Tools and at this point, this has not yet occurred. We have made development progress toward AAX from what I'm told and we should be prepared for when Pro Tools no longer allows other formats.

So - it seems that it is a live project...

All they had to do was tell us that...

I would still like my Q answering though...re GR5.

Ta

If IK and others like Markbass would port their amps to AAX DSP, then I'd have a real incentive to replace my HD3 rig with a HDX.

If that doesn't happen...I really can't see any reason to go HDX
