Midi Controller Problem
I've got my yamaha s90 es hooked up to my 002 with midi cables. I've got a pro tools session with a midi track and an aux track with an instrument plugin on it. I'm getting no midi signal whatsoever. Everything is record enabled. No midi coming through and no sound. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thanks, Shawn |

Re: Midi Controller Problem
You need to set up a midi device in setup, midi, midi studio.

Re: Midi Controller Problem
No offense intended here. Have you patched the midi cables correctly? midi out of the yamaha to midi in of the 002 and vice versa(can't forget those newbies, I've been there myself). Have you enabled midi thru(I think under the EVENTS menu)? Is your midi track set to input from ALL? Once you get a working signal, you may want to set the midi track output to NONE or to an un-used midi channel to avoid double-triggering(your new midi track re-triggering the yamaha while you are recording). You actually can record your midi with a single midi cable(the second cable out of the 002 and back to the yamaha is not needed for recording or triggering sounds on VI's).

Re: Midi Controller Problem
I've tried the midi studio setup and my model number isn't in there, so I went ahead and picked a random one. If that won't work, then how do I get my keyboard to show up in the list of model numbers?

Re: Midi Controller Problem
Try turning the keyboard on before opening PT.
I don't know if it'a tha same thing, but I'm using a USB keyboard at the moment and that's how I have to do it, if not PT does not "see" the keyboard.
