WaveDriver = unhappy
I have a DIGI002 Rack and I'm using Windows XP. I have had multiple problems with my setup. The most recent is the WaveDriver.
First, I can't understand why I need a 3rd party app (Digi MME helper) to enable me to pick which programs my Digi002 will work with. Why not everything? Second, I enabled I-Tunes in the MME Helper but ran into jittery playback. The knowledge base was no real help. The support document said (back in December) that Quicktime 7 wasn't supported by Windows XP yet, so I would need to use an older version. The latest version of I-Tunes, however, REQUIRES Quicktime 7 to run. Then I upgraded to PTLE 7.1 (which included new drivers) but had no improvement. The turnaround was reading the documentation installed with 7.1. The WaveDriver User guide held the key. This mentioned making sure you set Quicktime to Safe Mode (waveOut only.) You can do this by going to Edit --> Preferences --> Quicktime Preferences, then the Audio tab. Now it works great! For those who read my original post, my opinion has been tempered... |

Re: WaveDriver = unhappy (SOLVED)
Ok,
I just found the fix. Installing the 7.1 update to PTLE didn't do jack, but... It included documentation on how to use the WaveDriver. This mentioned making sure you set Quicktime to Safe Mode (waveOut only.) You can do this by going to Edit --> Preferences --> Quicktime Preferences, then the Audio tab. With this and having I-Tunes added to the opt-in list via Digi MME Helper, I-Tunes works now. Sweet. Guess I'll have to back off on the sass. Thanks DIGI P.S. Could we just have I-Tunes added to the Opt-In list by default? It would save people from having to listen to more rants like mine. |
