Looking for opinions on Oktavia MK 319, Cad M37
Found a good price on both these mics at Guitar Center. Any thoughts? What applications do you use them for.
Thanks. |

Re: Looking for opinions on Oktavia MK 319, Cad M37
I don't know about the CAD, but I've got a MK-319. It's not a great sounding condensor, but if you don't have any condensors at all, it's better than nothing. To my ear it sounds a little tinny. Lacking in some of the important mid frequencies that provide power to both vocals and acoustic guitars. It's a very clean sounding mic though. Blended with the signal from a SM-58 or similar dynamic mic it can sound really good.
Personally, if I had to do it over I would save until I had twice what the MK-319 goes for, and get an AKG. But if you're strapped for cash, the MK-319 will do okay. Mike
