Waves v8 install issues on PT v9 HD

It would seem that Waves is back to problems with Waves v8 running as a Mac standard user. Seemed to have been fixed in v7. Problem is Waves v8r4 will run as administrator, but not as standard user. When ProTools launches as user, it gets hung at Waveshell v8 load in. In version v6, they had you creating a shortcut to redirect the path. Those all appear to be in place with this version. I'm guessing a permission issue.
This is a new machine -8 core Intel 2.4G PPC, OSX 10.6.6, ProTools 9,02 HD5.
In the past Wave would ask to direct it to the Waves Plugin folder, when the screen comes up with a blank request window, then the file browers, you direct it to the plugin folder, it simply hangs at that as well.
Anyone run into this yet? Thanks in advance.

Here is a guess.. go to App/Digidesign/Protools/plugins alias folder and see how many Wave DAE waveshells there are. Should be just one.

Thanks for the reply. I did verify one Waveshell v8 in the plugins folder. As mentioned, it works as admin. We'll beat up Waves in the morning.
