Default Trying to start using midi instruments and loops.. tutorial anywhere?

Hi all,

We've been using Pro Tools LE for years now... but only to record physical audio. We plug in guitars and mics and record. But now we are wanting to use midi instruments and loops.

We do quite a bit of idea sketching in programs like garageband and have quite a lot of loops and instruments available to us through those interfaces. I'd love it if we could just ditch garageband all together and use Pro Tools. Is there a tutorial or document that might point us in the right direction on how to set up midi instruments, how to use them, how to use loops, etc..? These are things we do quite easily in Garageband, but again, I'd love to only be using one DAW and Pro Tools is our tool of choice!

Also, is it possible to bring all those instruments and loops from Garageband/Logic into some tool to be used in Pro Tools?

Thanks for any info you can help us out with!

You can use the Workspace to open loops from Garageband and Logic. The new version of Structure will open Logic's EXS instruments natively. Check this site out: http://www.airusersblog.com/

Russ has some good video tutorials to get you started. Good luck.
