Default Sync 002 to analog tape

Hi there,
I want to sync my teac 80-8 to the 002. I do not know anything really about this kind of thing. Can anyone tell me how to do this (preferably in the cheapest way!).
Thanks,
Jans

Hi Jans,

You'll need to buy a SMPTE to MTC box (i think a Rosenthal MIF will work). Then you record a SMPTE-code on one of the channels on your TEAC. Connect the output from the TEAC-channel to the Rosenthal, connect the midi output to the 002midi in, select MTC-sync (Midi time code) in ProTools, and whhooschh, when you press play on your TEAC, ProTools will lock and start playing too.

Good luck, analog rules/Sven
