Default SPDIF - How to record with Apogee Mini Me & Mbox 2 Pro

I just picked up a Mini-Me so that I can use its A/D converters, but can't quite make the connection, maybe you can help me.

I'm trying to record bass through the mini-me into the mbox 2 pro via the SPDIF input. I know the mini-me is getting a signal because I can see it on the LED lights and hear it in headphones. However, I can't get a signal in Protools.

I researched the mbox manual, which barely mentions SPDIF, so I must be missing something. I did set the clock source to SPDIF, record-enabled a track to SPDIF L in, and nothing comes in! What am I missing?

Thank you!

Hi. The same have happened to me. I use a MiniMe with MBox2 and a macBook for field recordings. When I connect the Mbox to the computer via the front USB-jack, these things can happen. When I switch to the next jack (the one closer to the screen) the problems stops

So I suggest that you try to hook up the Mbox from another USB-jack on the computer.

I realize this thread is way old, but I'm having the exact same problem. I can get the MBox to accept clock input from the S/PDIF source, but no audio.

I'm a novice at PT, so I might have something routed wrong in the I/O section. But for the life of me I can't figure this out. Anyone else experienced this and have a possible solution?

I've messed around with the I/O mapping extensively, and still no luck. I'm not sure at this point if I'm doing something wrong, or if this is just an issue with the S/PDIF connection between these two devices.

Has anyone else had any experience with this issue? It's bumming me out...
