Computer only for ProTools playback

Hi, I just bought a MacBook, we're gonna use it in my band for backingtracks. It's connected to a 002 and an external drive and the only program that ever will be launched on this computer is ProTools.

There are so many other programs in the Applications folder, I want to delete them all. Is that a good idea or does ProTools needs other programs to run smoothly?

to be honest I cant find the justification of deleting the apps in the app folder.
if it is a clean installed osx with pro tools only you shouldn't have to do anything other than installing PT and the plug ins you need.
the size of the apps in the default osx setup is not as big to make any difference.you might even find one or two of those applications handy some time.(chess has saved my ass way to many times to count when waiting for clients that are stuck in traffic :P)
and PT doesn't need any additional softwares to work
I'd rather focus on getting this stuff done, which I assume you've already checked

Stock OS X install is rock solid.

Only need to change a few system preferences to make PT happy.

No need to trash anything.

Windows days are behind you.
