Default Faders and knobs Axiom 49

Finally got the volume faders and Pans working in protools with the axiom 49(NOT THE PRO!). The questions now are as follows: HOw do I extend the volume faders beyond 8 tracks and how do I switch control back to plugins, so I can hear my instruments? I'm very new to this so please be gentle with full depth explanations.
