Default Pay for MP3 Option???

I've been using PT 8 for about a year now. I have never had the need to render to mp3 until today. It didn't work. I got a message about authorization and what not or my mp3 trial expiring. I did some research and it seems you have to pay extra for this option. Is that correct? I bought the Mbox 2 Mini retail and have since upgraded to the Pro. This option is not included? Just double-checking before I pay the$20. at the Digi Store. I'm going back through my discs now. Thanks.

This has been covered here extensively. So I will not go into the details of why, but yes you must purchase the MP3 option. It comes with the Music Production Toolkit also. You can either buy it from Sweetwater Music or the Digi / Avid store. After you buy the license you will need an ILok for it. I'm unsure if they still offer any other way. Then you will need to install it. The installer should be on your disks or from the site.

You can also make mp3 files in iTunes or WMP for free.

Thanks. I did a search on keyword(s) "mp3 option" and nothing came up for some reason. Its not a BIG deal. I have other software that will do the conversion, but I'm afraid it will dull my sound. I know from experience Adobe Audition messes with my sound.

Really? I used to use cool edit pro. (adobe audition). It uses the same codec (i think) MP3 will never sound as good any way, but I find mp4 in Itunes sounds better, just bigger files.

mp4, is a MUCH better sounding file than an mp3.the compression scheme is quite a bit more friendly to the file. i use mp3 out of necessity ONLY! mp4 is a larger file, typical song will be around 30mb. so it cuts it in about half. have to use an ftp though to email because standard email will only work at about 10-20mb. yousendit.com is free up to 100mb or dropio.
