mono compatibility of aux-folders
Hi everybody,
just came across a weird thing in 2021.7: I had in a mix session situation 2 complementary guitar tracks, from two guitarists, recorded with different setups, routed thru an aux-routing-folder. They almost completely disappeared in mono. Couldn't figure out why, so I tried a new aux-subgroup which worked perfectly in mono summing. As soon as I convert these new aux subgroup into an aux routing folder the guitars disappear again in mono. This happens completely in the box, no outboard gear involved. Does anybody experience the same problem or is it my setup ? PT 2021.7.0 HD-Native, on:MacBookPro 15" 2019, 2,3 GHz i9, 32 GB running OSX 10.14.6 |

Re: mono compatibility of aux-folders
I have had the same thing. I've had to learn how to pan without losing stereo separation. I bought an Avantone Mixcube and use only one to keep checking L &R. Usually when tracks disappear in stereo its a phase issue. Try moving some EQ frequencies to see if you start hearing things, if so you have a phase issue.
