Default FW daisy chaining

Hi!

I´m going to get the new Profire 2626, but anyway, what´s the right order to daisy chain a FW audio interface with a FW harddrive? And is it recommended? As a MacBook user i only have one FW port as you all probably know...
I know this is the LE/Win forum, but it´s a Win related question also, i think....

Thanks

Claus

I don't think there's a difference in the order - it's a parallel interface, and the "daisy chain" just provides another port in another location.

There is definitely a difference.

Digidesign recommends that if you must daisy chain that you do it in this order;
computer->hard drive->audio device

There have been a few problems doing this with some of the M-Audio interfaces, however. I have personal experience with the problem with the 1814 interface on a PC, and it was only solved by using a PCMCIA FW card (something you can't do with the current macbooks, only the macbook pro).

Since the 2626 is so new, you will probably be the pioneer of the technique with that device. Let us know how it goes.
