Default Main thread segmentation fault. Kill me now!

Can anyone tell me what the hell this is and why it happens continuously and randomly when importing tracks on all of our systems. It's a bloody heading wrecking bug. Please fix! Pro tools 8 yada yada.

We need to identify what is broken first.

Ah, well don't expect that fixed in v8. Plus, we need more info. 8 yada yada isn't enough information. v8? v8.0.5? Leopard or Snow Leopard? Do you have an AVID video peripheral attached to this system?

Default Re: Main thread segmentation fault. Kill me now!

Well it can be:
1. os issue (generally with updated os, clean install should solve)
2. ram issue (main thread, especially 0x0 usually a sign of ram issues)
3. database problems (simply trash them)
4. disk permission issues (can be cured with onyx or other maintenance app)
5. sadly many other things. more info will help us to help
