There are several free programs for doing that(I wish I could remember one). In any case, WMP and iTunes are capable as well(if you can figure it out). I do it in WaveLab(but you don't want to buy it for making mp3's).

Probably the best freebie is Audacity. You will need to download the program itself, and then download a separate MP3 converter program which operates within Audacity. You then import a WAV file into Audacity and export as MP3.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ for the main AUdacity program

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help...&item=lame-mp3 will tell you how to download and install the LAME MP3 converter for use within Audacity.

A simple gui app like Lame Front-end is even easier than Audacity.

LAME for life :).. i second the recommendation for a LAME front-end if you're not comfortable with the command line (or if you have no idea what i'm talking about). but you don't need to download audacity to use it

Free is nice, but for 20 bucks you can export them directly from your session... with the mp3 option. A real timesaver in most cases.

Yes, it's saves about 20 seconds, then you're stuck with an mp3 bounce.
If I'm gonna bounce in real time, I'm gonna get a wav file out of the deal.

Do you have a link for an .exe of lame front end?

All I find is the source code.

Seeing as how you're on Windows.

Make sure you click the blue download button. The red ones take you to adware.

A simple, free and effective convertor is Switch from NCH.
