Deafening White Noise Damaging My Hearing
Please help.
While using any audio related programs including Pro Tools (v. 6.4), I get unexpected blasts of white noise that last until I restart the program. The extreme amplitude level increase is damaging and frightening. Eg. I used my SPL meter to register my usual monitoring levels of 80dB, when the blast of white noise strikes (as it almost always does) the SPL meter registers an astonishing 110dB. Not cool, especially during recording sessions with headphones on. I have an iBook 700Mhz with 640MB of RAM. My Op System is 10.9.3, my Pro Tools version is 6.4 and I have the Digi CoreAudio Manager version 6.9 in use with the Mbox. I have my suspisions the Digi CoreAudio Manager has something to do with this, but I've never seen any posts or fixes for it. Again, please help. If you can help, you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ben |
