Default Newbie - How do I lower the volume of a region?

Bear with me on this one. Maybe the answer is
obvious.

I recorded a 12 bar guitar part in PT LE 6.1.1

I didn't like my performance on bars 6 and 7.

I created a new track and recorded 6 and 7 over again.

When I paste my "good" 6 and 7 into the original
region the "good" recording is too loud. It doesn't
match the volume of the original. Any suggestions
on how to lower the volume of the new 6 and 7 to
match the original.

Thanks,

You can either turn your automation on to 'Write' and do it manually with the fader (you'll find automation on the fader itself, where it says 'Read' by default, click and hold that, set it to 'Write'...mix the regions, then set it back to 'Read')
OR
in the Edit Window, to the left of the track where it says 'Waveform', set it to 'Volume'. Then adjust the volume where your new region(s) are.
Post back with any questions and somebody'll help you out.

Keep in mind that there is only one automation playlist per track so if you lower the volume as Roy suggested, and then go back to the original region, it will get lower in volume too. Just thought you should know before you think there are othe problems occuring.

Actually, I didn't say anything about lowering the volume. You can leave your fader exactly where it is as it passes through those measures, and the volume will be constant through all the regions, old and new.
Probably the quickest way, if the volume is the same on both sides of the 'new' region, is to simply create a point outside both ends of the new region with the Grabber, highlight the volume in between, and hit Delete. This will create a straight volume line.
