Well, if we're being picky, Monterey was updated to 12.6.8 yesterday.

13.5 is working very well here.

Re: Os monterey 13.5 (22g74)
Oh, I was late to see this because the title says Monterey. I posted somewhere else, that my Pro Tools is working fine too. Had I actually realized that you were talking about Ventura, I would've replied to you, instead of starting a new thread.
Sorry bout that.

Re: Os monterey 13.5 (22g74)
Just finished a session using Ventura 13.5 and Protools 2023.6. I was previously already running Protools 2023.6, but recently upgraded the OS from Ventura 13.4.1 to Ventura 13.5. Things ran well and no new issues were encountered. I went back and forth between an Intel MacBook Pro and an M2Max Mac Studio running native Apple Silicon and via Rosetta (for some legacy plugin compatibility). I hope that helps others facing this upgrade to be more comfortable with the upgrade.

Yes, it's also working very well here too.

Re: Os monterey 13.5 (22g74)
I just upgraded from Monterey 12.6.8 to Ventura 13.5 and notice that audio over USB seems to be less stable - I have a USB hub with iLok, external webcam and RME Babyface attached. This worked fine under Monterey, but I notice that in Ventura, when the webcam fires up, the audio through the RME glitches. Now I recognise that in an ideal world the RME should be on its own port, but I don't have one spare - my main interface is a Carbon which is attached to a dedicated TB port and seems to work fine still (although coreaudiod is still not really happy about AVB). But it's interesting that the most mature version of Ventura still isn't as good as Monterey over USB.
There's also a problem with putting my external 49" screen to sleep, where I get a graphics corruption (the task bar pops up on an otherwise black screen when going to sleep) which was also fine under Monterey. And then I discover that re-installing Monterey requires completely wiping the disk. MacOS gets more Windows-like as the years roll by..... Dominic

Re: Os monterey 13.5 (22g74)
What I do is I try to keep the devices that are not that intensive on the USB hub (ilok, keyboard, mouse, printer. scanner, etc.). I try to keep devices that need more bandwidth or lower latency on dedicated thunderbolt/USB ports (audio interfaces, external hard drives, video monitors, etc.) I'm not sure where a webcam fits. I suppose if it is causing audio glitches, it may be using higher data throughput, so I would consider moving it to another port if available. I know you said that you don't have another port, so your options may be limited. I just use the built-in camera on the MacBook Pro rather than an external USB webcam.

Quote:
As long as the Carbon keeps working over AVB properly, I'm fine! And if I was going to use the RME as the primary interface, I'd move it onto its own port. As things stand, the MBP has 3 TB ports - one for the big monitor (which doesn't work well on the HDMI port), one for the Carbon (TB to Ethernet) and one for everything else - i.e. a 7 port USB hub. I could probably improve things by using that last port for a Caldigit TB hub or something similar, but it's remarkable that even after a year of refinement, something as long-standing as USB scheduling is worse in Ventura than Monterey. Anyway, no crisis - I should probably do some work instead of worrying about these things. Dominic
