Unable to install ProTools

Hello, I am getting an error while trying to install ProTools 10 on my computer. In the past I used Cubase...

My system is an HP Z800 dual 6 core Xeon running Windows 7 professional with 24 GB of RAM.

First I put in the DVD from the box. When the menu pops up, I click on Install Pro Tools. It seems to start off okay, but about halfway through it, it stops and presents the following error:

"The files for installation requirement Avid Effects could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or canceled download."

In addition, right after this happens, the system stops recognizing the DVD drive forcing me to restart.

Note, I also have a copy of Media Composer on my computer.

Does anyone know what is going on and how I can successfully install it?

Try to copy all DVD to you hard drive or download from Avid Site. This make you Install easier.... because not all info in yot the DVD all legeible

The problem was that previously I had cancelled an installation. While I thought that I had deleted everything from the control panel's uninstall menu, there was something in there called PACE which has something to do with licensing (or something).

After I deleted that, everything was fine.
