Default Basic Synthesis and Envelope

Fellow Pro Tools users I am in need of help!
Looking at the A Level Music Tech Unit 4 Exam..... it asks students to do synthesis starting with a basic saw/square etc and match the envelope to the audio example.
(See June 2014 paper q.2a)
How do you do this? I can find "basic saw"'s etc in Xpand2 and can turn off all the effects, but am struggling to match the timbre/envelope due to the limited controls for the envelope......
How would you tackle questions like this? Do I need another plugin? Vacuum's mono so Xpand2 is the only option I think.
Any help much appreciated!

Andy

Depending on which Xpand patch you're working with, yes, the options for envelope control are limited. You do have a full envelope controls with Vacuum...ADSR, so might have better luck with that.

Default Re: Basic Synthesis and Envelope

Also if audio is printed the clip gain line for enveloping.
However if this is an exam then presumably this information was covered and should be represented as taught.

BTW Vacuum is the truer of the two for synthesis.
