Default 23.976 Framerate question

Sorry if this has been addressed in this forum but I am a bit curious how others are doing it. If I would like to lock to a 23.976 HDCAM deck using machine control, will I still need LTC going to a Sync I/O or other device? If so, does the Sync I/O resolve 23.976? What other devices will resolve 23.976 code that can be used with PT? I have looked at the software updates for the Sync I/O and seen nothing in regards to a 23.976 update. I am looking to make the upgrade to 6.4 for the purpose of reliably resolving HD projects in their native format. Thanks for the help.
