Default 888/24 sample rate switching

i'm new to pro tool. sometimes when i call up a session it will play back at the wrong sample rate. i can not seem to make the
i/o switch sample rate withe the software.
i must reboot the computer and turn the
888/24 off and on the get the right playback speed. i use a mix cord card
with one 888/24. this problem just started
recenty. what am i doing wrong?

Try going to playback engine and making sure you have selected 888/24 as your interface choice. The best way to do this is to trash your digisetup file (in the preferences folder) and restart the computer then launch pro tools. Also make sure the cables are connected firmly.
