Default Will there be a DIGI 004.

Will there be a DIGI 004. I really hope so. I realize its not Digidesign now but the DIGI brand is as synonymous as ProTools. well almost. So why leave all that behind. People who have never heard of M Audio probably have heard of DIGI00whatever. So make a Digi 004 and make it expandable to 24i/o, 192k ready. I own HDX but I would still buy it just to offer a service at much lower prices than a HDX studio should receive .

I like DIGI so do people who have never heard of anything but ProTools or anything else for that matter. DIGI 004ever

I second that.. That would be very cool. I get just as good of mixes if not better on my PT 10 system at my home studio verses my old HD 8 system. If it could expand to 24 ins and outs, that would be perfect!! Brilliant

Why not grab something like a Macking Control Universal Pro and the interface of your choice?

Because they already have an other product that does almost all the same things, except a few options and in a price bracket that is lower even if you get other preamps on the side.

So why have two product that would compete each other, and the 004 being the most expensive of the two?

Still rocking the 002 console here... I agree with the OP...
I happen to like the digi hardware and the console just feels right. Skipped the 003, but would certainly look at an 004

After my current project is complete, I will be in the market for a new interface to replace my now ancient digi002r. My preference would be a new avid interface, however there isn't one in my price range($1500-$2500) that has ADAT and firewire. I can't justify going to HD and on top of it all I run only on a 2011 MBP.

So in the absence of a digi004 or some other feature rich (e.g. ADAT etc..)interface from Avid... I will be choosing between: Apollo, Ensemble, UFX.

Ive been eyein the presonus 24.4.. Only issue i have is that is not 32 bit yet. from what i hear its a great addition to PT tho. Im still rockin the digi 002 also. Worx perfect, knock on wood... The digi stuff does feel right. Its always worked great for me.

Say what about 32-bit? The Presonus is not a control surface.

Just saying, but don't overlook metric halo. I now have a ULN-2 and 2882+DSP. Amazing gear. I added a mc mix and haven't even thought about my old BLA modded 002. It's ancient history that I'm glad I replaced.
