Default Mac os x 10.6.3 update and PT LE 8.0.3

I'm wondering if the new OS X update, 10.6.3 is compatible with Pro Tools LE 8.0.3cs1 and/or 8.0.3cs2?

No officaial word yet. I've done the upgrades (both OS & PTLE) to three different machines and all is working fine so far. If you are in the middle of a project or have paying clients, I would hold off until you hear an official word from AVID/Digidesign.

Not officially tested, not comparable. Few users already updated to 10.6.3 and are having buffer sizer issues, not allowed to select more than 2 processor, not able to increase the processor percentage as well. If you are involved with serious projects and depends on this buggy horrible PT 50% functionality right now don't update, otherwise your PT functionality will decrease to 20 or 15%.

After reading this post I went and checked my system that I had upgraded to OSX 10.6.3 (Combo Update) and Protools LE (8.0.3cs2). It is a Nehalem Mac Pro with 8 processor cores that appear as 16 in Protools due to hyperthreading. I am able to change the number or processors in my playback engine anywhere from 1 - 16 without any problems. I am also able to select any processor percentage as well. I am not having any issues that would indicate a drop to 20-15% in performance. I'm not saying that others are not seeing this as I'm only one sample. In my case it works well. As stated before, don't ever do an upgrade or update in the middle of a project. I'm just testing for you good people out there, and from my perspective, it's all good...except the bouncing CoreMIDIFramework folder in the dock that is still there when I run anything needing MIDI but that was there in PTLE 8.0.3 and 8.0.3cs1 already.

Same here - no new bugs when using 10.6.3 that weren't there already when using 10.6.2.

So is anyone having "first-hand" problems with the updates? So far, all we've heard are first-hand success stories and unsubstantiated third person failures. I'm just trying to make sure we give truthful reports.

It has actually improved my Quicktime video replay in ProTools which, since moving to Snow Leopard, has played at less than full frame rate.
10.6.3 and PT LE 8.0.3cs2 have now given me back full frame rate video replay on screen and via PCIe to my external monitor.

Haven't noted any other additional bugs or performance degradation at this stage.

All good with 10.6.3 Combo & LE 8.0.3cs2 on MacbookPro, better management of playback engine resources
