Used HDX cards + used legacy 192 boxes
Last Jan I ordered 2 new HDX cards and 4 HD i/o 16x16 boxes. I need to duplicate that system. Here's my question.
Can you buy 2 used HDX cards, and hook them up to four legacy 192 boxes and install them on a second mac pro? When I bought the new setup they sent me cables that looked like they were supposed to go from the new HDX card to the old 192 boxes. Those boxes are only $800 dollars! Will this work?

No problem with Pro Tools 10. Can't say for sure when 11 hits if the 192's will still work, but they will certainly get you thru a year or two easily. Worst case is you might need to buy some cables from an Avid dealer of the Avid store.

The problem you might have is buying HDX cards on their own!! i think they come with interfaces as a package? Chris
