Default Dual-Monitor Video Cards

Hi. Is anyone successfully using the ProMax Dual-Monitor card with a new G4? Just wondering since the Appian Jeronimo 2000 is the only officially approved card for use with PT.

Thanks,
Jeff

ProMax dual works great on my G4 DP500. Had to send my Appian back because of the swimming pool effect. It's also a lot cheaper! Still can't play back dvd's on either yet though.

We recently bought (and returned) 9 Fuse cards. We replaced them with the Pro Max cards. They look great. They can even output PAL video to NTSC monitors. Some of our AV Option editors even preferred the Pro Max to their ABVB's at AVR 8S

Bobwish,

Are you using the ProMax cards for capture and playback or playback only? (I wasn't aware of the ProMax being a video capture solution).

I'm a Fuse user who'se just gone from a 604e Mac to a Dual 500 G4 and I've been hearing about Fuse/PT5.1.1/OS 9.1 issues. If I encounter a problem I might be interested in checking out an alternative.

thanks!

Wow, did you say on a dual process 500 machine? (The 'year old' model) That particular machine (which I own) has shown to be particularly troublesome with the Appian. Basically, I never read anyone on this DUC claiming to have it working.
To hear you are getting great results from the Promax is heartening indeed.
Vinolyzor, can you confirm this is the model you have? Thanks.
