Default Sync problem playing PT mix in Final Cut Pro

I received a 48k, 25fps OMF2 from a Final Cut Pro editor, along with a Quicktime. Translated the OMF with no conversions, and the resulting Pro Tools 5.1.3 session ran in sync with the Quicktime with Hardware set to Internal Sync, and I built and mixed the show with no problems. Created an AIFF and sent it back to same editor for the on-line. He brought it into his session without converting it, but my bounce drifts out of sync with the Quictime by the second scene, and gets steadily worse. The bounce works fine in my session, and all settings have been triple-checked. Ran Digitest and Norton with no problems found. Made an AIFF for another client's 48k, 29.97 session and that one worked fine in that client's FCP project. Recorded the mix to a DA-88 and brought it back into the session with no change. Since to me it seems to be a slight sample rate difference, despite all our settings being the same, I tried making bounces one step higher and lower than 48000, but FCP converts them in realtime to 48000 when he plays it back, thus negating the adjustment. I am rapidly going insane trying to solve this problem. Help!

Default Re: Sync problem playing PT mix in Final Cut Pro

At first guess it sounds like the picture output was done incorrectly or when he did the On-line he changed to format of the picture for the full resolution version. Did you get the QT with a window burn in the picture to verify that the timecode is correct. Is there any thing that changed during thge on-line steps that could account for the difference? have you tried to drop the mix back into the original low-res FCp session to see if that works?

Check out the path that the audio export and the video export took from FCP to Protools. Find out exactly how the OMF was created and how the QT was created...

cheers
