Default Korg Legacy Collection or Sampletank2 XL

Hey everyone...I'm VERY new to this whole software synth deal and I'm trying to decide on what might be best for me to use. Sampletank2 XL seems like its very very easy to use and has some pretty good sounds. On the other hand I'm a huge fan of the Korg's keyboards...so the sound banks that come w/ the korg legacy would probably be to my liking...the thing that is holdnig me back from the Korg Collection is it looks all VERY complicated to use seeing as though I've never worked w/ softsynths before. And having to buy the FXpansion VST-RTAS converter wouldn't be too much of a problem either...so if anyone has any ideas on this matter please give me some feedback.

I havent tried the legacy soft synth except it seems geared toward synthesized sounds. Sampletank is essentially and Sample playback tool. In other words, Sampletank will play a sampled grand piano and to some it may rival an actual live piano. The synth is a synthesizer the plays sounds that may have originated as a wave but then modified to sound unique.

Sampletank has a demo that you can download called Sampletank Free. It will give you an idea of how wellmit works. The Korg site has many clips that you can audition.

No one toll will do it all. You will soon start building a library of virtual instruments. Although some are easier than others, and some nearly impossible to program without pure dedication, all virtual instruments come with tons of presets that really help you get started.
