Default 003 Rack Analog Input Problem

Hey everybody,

I'm new to Pro Tools and this will be my first post. I set up my 003 rack and daisy chained a brand new glyph firewire hard drive, all according to the manuals. When I get into the recording environment and I try to select an input from the I/O menu, I only get interface 1 and 2 (mono). I'm missing 6 other inputs. I opened up logic and checked to see if all my inputs were available in logic and there was only 2 inputs available. I have no clue what this could be. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Go to the Setup>IO menu. Then go through all the tabs (Inputs, outputs etc) and hit "defaults" button..

That's the ticket. While you're there, spend some time learning about how the setup works and how you can customize it for you. For instance, you can rename the IO so if you keep certain mics or instruments assigned to certain inputs, naming them makes your workflow nicer. On my system, I have inputs named Motif, Roland TD10(for 4 line inputs), Fire 1, Fire 2 etc. for my firestudio inputs and phones 1, phones 2, etc for the outputs that feed my headphone amp.
