DAE error -1103 was encountered.

I am running PT version 6.4 on a windows machine. Pentium with XP. Using 888/24 i/o. Nothing external attached except a 4 Gb thumb drive only when I need to get files to my team. And then I only connect it, dump the files and pull it.

I am getting the above mentioned error message as well as:

•1103 Not able to aquire the hardware and must exit now.
•1103 Could not complete you request because: Access violation occurred.

And other similar -1103 messages.

It has always worked fine. When I restart and stay in ProTools it seems to be fine. When I exit and re-open without restarting the mayhem begins.

The only thing I can think of that has changed is I changed the playback engine settings at one point when I received the message "buffer overrun occurred" I believe ti was. I have since switched back. When I switch to 1 DSP 32 voice it will work for awhile then start up again. Also when I have attempted to bounce to disc, as soon as I try the bounce it -1103's me again.

Additionally, I have a clear side to my computer and have noticed that on the side of the Mix cards there are lights. The top card has a RED light and a yellow light. The bottom card has a GREEN light and a yellow light. ?
