Default 5.1 w/Magma?

How has performance with 5.1 compared to 5.0.1?

i'm also real curious to hear about this.
in addition, i'd love to know what operating
systems magma owners are using and whether folks have been able to hook up external scsi
devices to the atto ul2s cards that live in their magma expansion chassis'.
oh yeah,
palmer

Palmer,

I'm running MacOs 9.0 with my system. My Magma CBS2 has both internal (ribbon) and external HD68-pin connections. I have a Cheetah 18 gig in the chassis as well as an external Cheetah which is in series with a SCSI CD-RW.

I think you asked about SCSI devices and Magma chassis so that's the best I can do. I've never had a problem with the system.

That help?

System 9.0.4 & PTLE 5.1 seem to be working great with my magma and Pismo 500. I haven't tracked anything yet. I have just been mixing with no problems at all.

I am running a 500MHZ G-3 Pismo, 384MB Ram, Magma 2-slot but I switched out the ATTO SCSI card for an Adaptec 29160 Ultra160 SCSI card so I could run the new 18.2 GB Cheetah X15 (15,000 RPM) internal drive. I just installed PTLE 5.1 & so far - so good. I'm not a "poweruser" like some of these good folks but I try to put the system thru it's paces to see how far I can push her - so far (for a small project studio), I am very happy with the entire setup. I started playing guitar & recording in the 60's - we would have died for a system 1/100th this good (the Beatles did most of their recording on a 4-tract tape). I know, I know - I came from the Jurassic Period but this "Little Guy" (DIGI001) can smoke when she's tuned up. I think DIGI puts together a heck of a program for the $$.
