CD-ROM Samplers...
I'm lookin into getting a CD-ROM sampler for an early Christmas gift to myself. I need an AKAI format sampler with alot of onboard memory and possibly the ability to expand the memory. Any suggestions?

Re: CD-ROM Samplers...
Check out the new Z series.
Z8 or the Z4 if money is tight. Z8 comes with hard drive and 256 megs of ram and can be upgraded to 512 megs of ram. They are both under 2,000 dollars street. The only drag would be they are 64 voice polyphony max. But, depending on what your using it for, that may or may not be a concern. They also have good i/o section and use USB and software so you can do editing via your mac screen instead of the tiny sampler screen. Speaking of which..the Z8 also includes an extension front panel..where you can unsnap the control plate from the front of the unit..and place it in front of you.. Worth a look. |
