Can Not UPDATE 8.0.4 to 8.0.5 Error Message
When i try to upgrade the installer on the update package says that it can not find a valid copy of pro tools installed on your computer. I purchased the mbox mini and it came with pro tools so i know its valid. How do i validate my copy or get the updater to recognize my copy of pro tools?
Thanks Z

Re: Can Not UPDATE 8.0.4 to 8.0.5 Error Message
Try right clicking the updater exe. and 'Run as Administrator'. Also disable any anti virus software.
I assume you are aware that you do not uninstall pro tools before running the updater. In the past some folks have assumed that the updater is actually a full installer when in fact it is...well...just an updater.

Re: Can Not UPDATE 8.0.4 to 8.0.5 Error Message
Good advice above. Here's a suggestion once you get it working again; remove one stick of RAM and install the other 3 sticks in 3 slots of the same color. That mobo is designed to run triple channel RAM and you may be hurting performance with 4 sticks(triple channel only works with either 3 or 6 sticks of identical RAM)

Re: Can Not UPDATE 8.0.4 to 8.0.5 Error Message
Thanks for the ideas. Tried the run as administrator, that did not resolve the issue. Still received the "Can not find a valid installation of pro tools on your system click "OK" to continue" error message.
In regards to the ram. Yes i realized this quite a while back and took out a stick of ram just havent updated my signature...guess i need to go do that... Anyways the issue is with the updater not recognizing my installation of pro tools, cant figure out why...
