transfert from Tdif to digi001

i nedd some advice i used to do a recording session for friends of mine on a tascam DA 38
& i'll be interested in trasfering the session from the DA from digital way, is there any possibility transfering TDIF to the adat port of my digi 001?? [email protected]

You need a format converter - I think the RME box would do it (AD-I-8) or get a tdif card (cheap) and use a program other than PT to do the transfer.

i'm not at my pro tools computer right now, but if i remember correctly, can't you set the optical I/O on the 001 to TDIF? i know it can read a certain Tascam format, i think it's with that model gear you are talking about.

Nope - TDIF is not compatible with the 001. FOr one, it is transmitted via a 25 pin D-sub connector. That format selection refers strictly to S/PDIF - Has nothing to do with the ADAT ins. An inexpensive TDIF card can be gotten for a coupla hundred dollars bundled with adequate software to allow you to trans fer the Wav files to PT. Thats the best you can do - the RME ADI-8 will act as a standalone format converter between T/Dif and ADAT, but that will run you at least $500 (a buddy just got one at GC on clearance for that - used).
