Crackling sound with ProTools Artist

I am using Mac Studio (M1 Max, 32 GB), a Volt 2 audio interface, and KRK near field monitors.

Yesterday, I plugged in my telecaster and the crackling started. It was fine on the weekend. It seems to only appear when using guitar plug ins. When I remove the plug in, I can hear a clean dry signal with no crackling. I tried changing buffer size. That didn't work.

I closed ProTools and opened GarageBand and no issues with guitar. I closed GarageBand and rebooted my computer. Still, the issue persists.

I have not installed any new software.

Any ideas?

HI this is strange !

I use all the time Bias FX2 and a few more guitar plugins in Protools with no issues at all. Maybe the input its too hot in Protools ? Just guessing here...

I agree. It is strange. Levels are not too hot. Nothing has changed from when I last plugged in my guitar. I am just wondering if I accidentally hit some strange combination of keys that might have activated something. I am on the latest version as I always update when it is available.

I figured it out. I accidentally activated Voice isolation mode on Mic Mode menu, which just appeared at top right side of my screen, I think, as a result to a recent Apple update. Correct setting is Standard mode. All good now
