Re: Difference between 6Ghz and 9Ghz
2.66 ghz and 2.93 are the processor choices, $300 diff
Not a big performance gain, but not a big price diff either.. You'd probably be better getting more memory with the money

Re: Difference between 6Ghz and 9Ghz
yeah sorry I wasn't clear enough.
I am getting a MacBook Pro and I have those two options for the $300 difference. I can't upgrade the memory at this time becuase it costs $1000 extra to go from 4GB to 8GB. I was wondering if there would be a difference or advantage on going with a 2.9Ghz as opposed to a 2.6Ghz. |

Re: Difference between 6Ghz and 9Ghz
Memory isn't going to help if you are maxing out your CPU cycles. The difference in performance can be the difference to make a glitch free mix - but that means you are really pushing your system to that level. If not, then I would save the $300 since you are going to have to invest in an fw expresscard anyhow.

Re: Difference between 6Ghz and 9Ghz
FWIW, I have had 2 instructors recommend 4 gig of RAM, no more and no less.
