I hate it when I realize that sometimes it really does come down to who you know and good looks and money, power and influence will outshadow whos right for the job almost every time (in some combination)

With all the tradgedy in the world, so many people dead both famous and not, I was really dissappointed that Elton John didn't rewrite 'Candle in the Wind' one more time.

ok, my favorite lame statement at AES, largely said in defense of the proliferation of sub-$300 large diaphragm condensors:
"you know, sometimes it just works out like that...you put up an ELAM251 and a 57 on a vocalist and the 57 sounds better..."
with as many times as i heard this tired analogy that weekend, i can't believe anyone gets more than $79.95 for a vintage 251!
